Tarea, Actuación, Niños, y Una Puesta del Sol Bonita

Hello, y'all! As we are winding down our clinical work in Piura this week, we've had somewhat of an abnormal schedule. Yesterday morning was a semi-regular clinical schedule but then in the afternoon we presented our final group projects and submitted our final papers. Phew, glad that's over with! The second group of Marquette students got here over the weekend so we've been showing them the ropes a bit and introducing them to a piece of Piura. It's fun to have them here and also to have them at our presentations yesterday! Here are the two groups presenting their aggregate projects.

The first group (Tobin, Sarah, Asmita, Stefanie, and Meghan) did their aggregate project on the Vida Nueva rehabilitation population and the second group (Gen, Anna, Alex, Lauren, and Kerry) did their research on the Pro-Life aggregate and pregnant women throughout Peru in general.

(L to R: Meghan, Tobin, Asmita, Sarah, Stef)

Me (showing humility here), Kerry and Gen before our skit. Gen's fiancee doesn't know she's pregnant yet, but hopefully he won't mind!!!

Here's a random picture of Gen at the nursing home yesterday morning with one of her besties

Last night we were invited to a little sing-a-long with another group that's here and it was so nice to just sit back and chill!!!! Today were our final evaluations for the course so school is "officially" done for a couple weeks. yay!!

Today we were able to choose our clinical sites (within reason) and I got to spend the morning with Lauren at children's Physical Therapy! It was the sweetest thing and actually really great with a kinesiology background! Finally putting that degree to use ;)

As we said goodnight to Mr. Sunshine last night and prepared to watch the Warriors win the Championship (or was I the only one in Peru?), this glory was painted across the sky. Absolutely remarkable!

As the week winds down and our work is passed into the hands of others, we reflect back on what a tremendous experience it has been. There's been joy, peace, crying, fevers, diarrhea, vomiting, coughing, smiles, laughter, tons of laughter, tons of Tylenol, Cipro, and more joy. We've learned to love the culture and people here with little prompting and will always hold Piura, Peru close to our hearts.

Thank you dear, dear friends for joining us in our journies! We love sharing our joys and sorrows with you and appreciate your kind words. Two more days of work and then it's off to one of the Wonders!!!

Sending loads of love and laughter,

Alex & the gang
